Whether you are an entrepreneur, real estate investor, marketplace leader, parent (or all three), you may wonder how to apply your faith to your daily life. Integrating faith and work sounds like a great idea, but you aren’t sure what to do when it comes to the practical side of things. Do you evangelize to your business partner or drop Bibles at your tenant’s doorstep? No matter what kind of leader you are, prayer is a significant first step to bringing your leadership to the next level.

You may say, “But I’m not a leader.” Here’s the truth: everybody is a leader in some capacity. A key role of a Christian leader is to pray for the organizations where you are leading and the people within them.

Over the years, my wife Becky and I have come up with 7 prayers to pray in the morning for leaders– this is how we start every day, whether we are together or apart. We have seen incredible transformation in our lives as a result of these prayers, so we are excited to share them with you!

As an overview, the topics are:

  1. Supernatural Favor
  2. Divine Connections
  3. Kairos Moments
  4. Overcoming Blessings
  5. Strategic Plans
  6. The Double Double
  7. Perfect Health

We encourage you to pray these prayers with a spouse or someone who leads alongside you if you are not married. The reason is in Matthew 18:19, when Jesus said, “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.” When we partner with one another in prayer, powerful things happen!

The words you say with your mouth are so important– what you declare becomes your reality. So, pray these topics aloud over yourself, your family, and the people you lead.

7 Prayers to Pray in The Morning for Leaders

1. Supernatural Favor

As Christian leaders, we don’t want to lead people to a vision that we can accomplish in our strength. Our invitation and challenge is to believe for something bigger than ourselves. To access that, we need something called supernatural favor.

Supernatural favor is a promise from God, and we believe it is our inheritance as His children. It is God’s tool for getting you to the places, people, and purposes He has for your life. Psalm 5:12 assures us, “For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.” So, we thank God for the favor in our lives every morning, even if it hasn’t shown up yet.

2. Divine Connections

Nobody leads in a vacuum. You need people to help you along your journey. So, the second thing we pray for is divine connections. These are key people that God has set aside to help you learn, grow, and get to the next level in your journey. Every day carries the potential to meet someone who can change your life. The key is to pray for these people and the eyes to recognize them when they show up!

3. Kairos Moments

The third thing we pray for is similar to divine connections- Kairos moments. Kairos is a Greek word meaning “decisive and opportune moments.” Becky and I think of it as God-opportune moments, or moments God orchestrates in our favor.

Think about it: God intentionally placed you on earth in 2024. You could have existed in the 1700s or the distant future, but He decided to make you a leader now so you can be a part of what He’s doing at this moment in history. Praying for Kairos Moments raises your awareness of God’s plan and how you can be a part of it daily.

4. Overcoming Blessings

Have you ever received a gift that surprised and humbled you? That’s precisely what overcoming blessings do. When you receive an overcoming blessing, you’ll know it. That’s because there is nothing you could have done in your own strength to accomplish or attain it.

Isaiah 45:3 says, “And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.” (Isaiah 45:3 KJV)

God wants to give you the treasures of darkness and the hidden riches of secret places. In other words, these are blessings that are not visible to the naked eye. Instead, they require revelation from the Holy Spirit. That’s why we pray for overcoming blessings every day– we’re learning how to see with our spiritual eyes, not our natural ones.

For example, we pray for overcoming blessings in our investments. We will pray things such as “Thank you, God, that you are showing us a property that nobody else has the eyes to see. Thank you for tackling us with overcoming blessings!” The key is to believe Isaiah 45:3 in your heart of hearts and declare it over your life.

5. Strategic Plans

The next thing we pray for are strategic plans in the areas where we are building– our businesses, ministries, and churches. This is a powerful time to pray in tongues. 1 Corinthians 14:2 (NKJV) says, “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.”

When you pray in tongues, there is a pinging in the spirit. It’s like a submarine when it sends a sonar wave out into the water. It helps you identify strategies and plans that are otherwise mysterious.

6. The Double Double

This prayer to pray in the morning for leaders comes from Isaiah 61:7 (AMP)

“Instead of your [former] shame you will have a [a]double portion;

And instead of humiliation your people will shout for joy over their portion.

Therefore in their land they will possess double [what they had forfeited];

everlasting joy will be theirs.”

We pray the double double over our businesses, income, and the income of our WealthBuilders Partners. God wants us to be fruitful and multiply in every area of our lives, and this prayer is a way that we agree with that increase. As you lead in the places God has called you to, He will provide!

7. Perfect Health

Finally, we pray the Word of God over our bodies. We ask God to grace every part, from our toes to our temples, with perfect health. We pray away disease, injury, and anything that threatens us so that we can enjoy and bring our best selves to the areas we serve.

Prayer is the best way to prepare yourself for the hardships of life in leadership. We hope this blog has encouraged you to integrate your faith and work in a new way. As you implement these seven prayers to pray in the morning, WE are praying for you to see the hand of God move in your leadership!
